Corfe Castle Case Study - George Barnsdale Timber products

Situated at the foot of Corfe Castle is a beautiful Grade II Elizabethan detached home that enjoys stunning views of the Castle and beyond. Dating back to 1677, the property retains many of the original features including the gabled porch, large open fireplace and lintels and rubble stone walls. When the owners of this stunning property moved in, they discovered that the old single glazed windows and doors were in a very poor state and would need replacing. Since the property is Grade II listed, there were strict conditions to be met in order to satisfy the Conservation Officer.

In order to achieve this sympathetic replacement, we recommended George Barnsdale’s Historic range of timber products.
Manufactured in their UK based factory, the Historic range comprises butt hinges, narrow profiles and period matching casement stays alongside narrow cavity glazing units, single glazing and acoustic glass. A range of Flush Casement Windows and Hardwood French Doors were installed by our highly experienced fitters.

Commenting on her new windows, our client said: “We are extremely happy with our new windows and doors, they look beautiful and totally in keeping with the house. They combine the historic look with highly functional and easy to use internal locks and handles. We would happily recommend George Barnsdale products to other people.”
